Re: Continued Operations--Critical Infrastructure Business
Dear Valued Water Safety Partner:
Due to the crucial role we play in the safety of the public water supply, Analytical Services, Inc. is considered an essential business and may continue to operate under state of emergency and shelter in place orders recently issued in various states and counties in the U.S.
The Department of Homeland Security has put forth guidance that employees working in a critical infrastructure industry such as Water and Wastewater have a special responsibility to maintain their normal work schedule. The announcement specifies that operational staff for water distribution and testing are essential. (See Memorandum on Identification of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers during Covid-19 Response dated March 19, 2020 issued by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency).
Our operations will continue functioning as normal and all healthy employees will continue coming to work. We have redundancy in our operational infrastructure. If too many of our employees at any location contract COVID-19 and operations are affected, we will work with you to establish a courier system and/or ship samples to the next closest unaffected operational site.
The safety and well-being of our employees is also a top priority as they continue to deliver critical services to support the water and wastewater industry. We have staggered work shifts to reduce employee contact and increased the frequency of disinfecting all common surfaces and work areas. All employees have been instructed to comply with social distancing directives and practice increased personal hygiene such as handwashing and use of hand sanitizer. Employees have also been instructed to stay home if they are feeling unwell, have a fever or any flu-like symptoms.
Please communicate any schedule changes with the lab so we can accommodate to best serve your testing needs. We will contact you directly if the operational situation in the lab changes at any point due to the outbreak.
